More Than a Headshot: Updated Branding Photos for Good Life Photo Solutions

Good Life Photo Solutions helps families rescue, organize, preserve, and protect their memories before they are lost forever.

Your business evolves. Your services grow, your message becomes clearer, and the way you want clients to experience your brand changes along with it. Your branding photos should grow with you.

I recently photographed an updated branding session for Andi Willis of Good Life Photo Solutions, and this session was such a great example of how branding photography can do much more than give you a new headshot.

Good Life Photo Solutions helps families rescue, organize, preserve, and protect their memories before they are lost forever. Andi works with everything from boxes of printed photographs and family albums to slides, VHS tapes, hard drives, and digital files. But at the heart of her business isn’t simply photo organization, it’s giving families peace of mind knowing their irreplaceable memories are being cared for and preserved.

For her updated branding session, we wanted to create images that showed all of those pieces of her business while still feeling like Andi: professional, inviting, relaxed, and approachable.

Branding Photos That Show What You Actually Do

Good Life Photo Solutions helps families rescue, organize, preserve, and protect their memories before they are lost forever.

One of my favorite things about planning a branding session is finding ways to visually tell the story of what a business owner does.

A headshot tells people who you are. A strategic branding image can help show them what you do, who you help, and what it might feel like to work with you.

For Andi, that meant bringing the pieces of Good Life Photo Solutions into the photographs.

We incorporated printed photographs, photo albums, slides, a slide carousel, VHS tapes, CDs, hard drives, and photo boxes into the session.

Instead of simply holding a prop and smiling at the camera, we photographed Andi actually interacting with these items, sorting photographs, looking through albums, reviewing old family photos, and working through memory boxes. We also captured the smaller details, such as her hands sorting photographs and close-ups of vintage photos, albums, slides, and VHS tapes.

These are the types of images that can become incredibly useful on a website, social media, blog posts, newsletters, educational content, and marketing materials because they immediately give potential clients context.

They aren’t just pretty pictures. They tell the story of the business.

Creating the Feeling of a Trusted Guide

The next part of Andi’s session focused less on the physical products she works with and more on the client experience.

When someone hires Andi, they’re trusting her with memories that can’t simply be replaced. That makes connection and trust an important part of her brand.

We created images of Andi working on her laptop, reviewing project plans, taking notes, preparing for virtual consultations, communicating with clients, and reviewing family photo collections. We paired those working images with warm, approachable portraits and intentional website images that leave space for text and graphics.

This is something I think business owners sometimes overlook when planning branding photos. You don’t need 50 versions of yourself smiling at the camera.

You need variety. You need images that introduce you. Images that show your process. Images that educate. Images that build trust. Images that can become backgrounds for website copy or graphics. And yes—you still need some really great portraits, too.

The goal is to walk away from a branding session with a library of images you can actually use.

Don’t Forget the Person Behind the Brand

And then we had some fun. Because while showing your expertise matters, people also want to know the person behind the business.

For the final part of Andi’s session, we created more relaxed lifestyle and personality images. We incorporated things that felt natural to her, including reading and looking through genealogy materials, along with relaxed portraits, headshots, laughing images, and casual moments.

These photographs give Andi another side of her content library.

She can use the more professional working images when she’s talking about her services or educating potential clients, while these relaxed photographs work beautifully when she wants to share something personal, tell a story, write an About Me post, or simply allow her audience to get to know her.

And that’s an important part of personal branding. Your audience isn’t only buying your service. They’re deciding whether they connect with and trust you.

Your Branding Photos Should Grow With Your Business

There is a reason I love photographing updated branding sessions. You don’t have to completely rebrand your business to need new photographs.

Maybe you’ve added a service. Maybe your website has changed. Maybe you’ve become clearer about the clients you want to reach. Maybe your old photos no longer look or feel like you. Or maybe you’ve simply used the same images over and over again and you’re ready for fresh content.

Your business doesn’t stay exactly the same from year to year, so it makes sense that your visual brand will need to evolve, too.

Andi’s Good Life Photo Solutions session gave her an updated collection that feels clean, classic, and approachable, the three words we identified for her brand while planning the session.

But more importantly, the photographs have a purpose. They show her expertise. They help explain her services. They build trust.

And they show the woman behind the business. That’s what I want a branding session to accomplish.

Is It Time to Update Your Branding Photos?

Take a look at your website and social media. Do the photographs you’re using today still represent the business you’ve built?

If you’re relying on photos from several years ago, constantly recycling the same handful of images, or struggling to find the right photo every time you create content, it may be time for an update.

At KWP Branding, I don’t want to simply photograph what you look like. I want to help create imagery that tells the story of your business and gives you intentional content you can put to work long after your session ends.

If you’re ready to update your brand and create a collection of images that finally feels like where your business is now, I’d love to help you plan it.
